Offshore pipe-laying ship maker Allseas verifies quick changes to designs with Femap
On-board equipment changes often require redesign while at sea for the Allseas Group. Those designs changes from multiple CAD systems are verified for structural integrity using Femap with NX Nastran. Results include meeting insurance requirements. “Femap lets us make an envelope of load cases, which was very difficult to do in the past with big models. This is a good tool and we use it a lot,” said Basem Sharoubim, coordinator of the Allseas Structural Group.
