The process of tool design and manufacture are critical path to the development of most products. The demands for shorter product delivery times, faster turnarounds on design enhancements, and lower supplier costs as well as the increase in global competition have dramatically impacted the tool-making industry. The complexity of tool design and manufacture traditionally requires highly skilled people applying knowledge attained only after years of practice and experience.
